Although her name is not yet a household word, chances are if you've spent any time in the Sacramento area, you have heard of COLLEEN LLOY. She has been performing for many years in all the local "hot spots". LLOY also has been recognized for her dynamic performance during the annual California State Fair. No matter where you may have heard this lady, you can bet she has a voice you will never forget. This native Sacramentan's first recording was a song "Sooner or Later" which was the number 2 song on an album for a charity, "MADD" (Mother's Against Drunk Drivers). Critic Mick Martin wrote: "The most impressive of these is Colleen Lloy whose "Sooner or Later" is an absolute knockout. If this fine singer isn't signed by a major label, there is no justice in the musoc world." LLoy is no stranger to the music world as her music has taken her across the United States and to Australia to record and perform. In August 1996, LLOY entered the Jimmy Dean/True Value Hardware Music Competition. She won first place in the Northern part of California. Ultimately, LLOY and her band were hired for the Regional Competition in Jackson, California. 1997 had LLOY writing and performing solo. Several of her 97 events were performing for the Deputy Secretary of the Department of the Interior, John Garamendi at his home for his annual Basque Barbecue and Congressman Vic Fazio for several of his events. In 1998, LLOY found herself busy singing with a premier Rhythm and Blues Band, The Fog Rhythm Section. They performed at the First Annual Great Gold Rush Celebration in Old Sacramento. During the holiday season, Colleen and her band performed at the charity event, "Toys for Tots" sponsored by Auburn Harley Davidson, The Gold Country Harley Owner's Group and the American Motorcycle Association, District 36, a toy driver for under-privileged children. LLOY made several television appearances on Channel 8, in Roseville, California during the year. 2000 was a difficult year for Lloy who lost her brother. She went into the studio and recorded "Life Challenges" and released the song "Can You Hear?" to radio. It charted 26 on the Christian Country Music Charts and is receiving great airplay in many countries.
2001-2004 found Lloy traveling and bringing her music to many venues in California, Florida, Alabama, Oklahoma, Illinois, Tennessee and Texas. She is no stranger to the Bluebird Cafe and had several sold out shows throughout the country. Lloy also managed to find time to do demo work for various writers in town and in California.
